Banstead Downs Tennis Club is a community-based non-profit making Club committed to making tennis available to all ages, abilities, and social groups, in and around the Banstead area. We aim to maintain competitive, team and tournament level play, and to provide a strong social ‘turn up and play’ atmosphere all year round. We have a thriving and successful junior section. We have been awarded Clubmark accreditation by the LTA in recognition of our excellent standards.
Banstead Downs Tennis Club is in Basing Road, off Bolters Lane, Banstead in Surrey.
We are a very friendly Club with members who get together to play tennis because they enjoy it. We want to give adults and children the opportunity to share that enjoyment and play on high quality courts – should it be to play competitive or social tennis or to learn the game, safely and with expert coaching. Coaching
There are excellent opportunities for those wishing to play competitive tennis at both senior and junior level. Competitive tennis is available through internal competitions, by entering Surrey competitions, and through matches in Surrey and local leagues. Competitive Tennis
We have a very strong social tennis membership and play all the year round. We have a good playing standard for our Full and Student members whose main Club sessions are on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. There are also Club sessions for Associate and Adult Improver members as well as for junior members. Playing Times
We are able to offer membership to all applicants, provided we have vacancies in the appropriate section. We encourage new members to start in the section appropriate to their playing standard, and we arrange regular “promotion” sessions for members whose game has improved, and who want to play tennis at a higher level. No minimum standard is required for membership – beginners are welcome. How to join
We have six courts, four floodlit macadam and two artificial grass, and a mini tennis court and practice wall, and currently have about 375 adult and junior playing members.
