On Thursday 10th September we held a charity tennis event for teams of mums from six local schools to raise funds for The Children's Trust, Tadworth.
Over £1,300 was raised by club members and visitors during the event. Well over our target. We also received a cheque for £250 from the Surrey LTA Patrons.
Raffle prizes were kindly donated by the ECB (Ashes series cricket bat signed by the England team), Wilsons K Series tennis racket from Wilsons Sporting Goods, two sports bags from PWP sports shop, Reigate, and prizes from Cliff Porter (the Club's head coach) and John Yeates.
Prizes for the winners, Mumms Champaign of course, were donated by one of our members, Chris Major, who is also a trustee at The Children's Trust.
And now to the tennis event itself!
This was won by the team from Bramley School for Girls, Walton-on-the-Hill. The team from St Anne's School Banstead were runners up. Teams were also entered from Chinthurst School, The Priory School, Greenacre School, and Banstead Junior School.
